Android gambling has come a long way since the platform was originally launched. What was once seen as an inferior platform to Apple’s iOS in terms of online gambling, Android’s more open platform has allowed for the system to catch up (and in some ways surpass) the iPhone and iPad system in terms of internet gambling.
With the ability to offer a great gaming experience, many casinos have made their games available on Android smartphones and tablets. Drake Casino is one of these spots. How does the casino stack up on Android devices? Read on to find out.
When I first came to Drake Casino, I instantly knew I was going to end up having a great time. My HTC Butterfly running Android Jellybean booted the site up beautifully.
Their website and software are at the cutting edge of mobile gaming. For the most part the majority of US facing brands have been slow to cater for mobile users. However, both Drake’s website and casino products have been seamlessly ported to to mobile with a fully responsive website and smooth as silk casino games.
I was able to register an account easily on my phone, and using Swype to enter my details made registering a snap. I really had no issues getting set up, and although the process takes a little longer on a phone than a PC, the process certainly isn’t a burden at all.
After getting my account set up, I had to put money into the casino before I could get down to real play. Seeing as how I was depositing on my Android device, I ended up being limited to just Visa, American Express, and MasterCard.
I originally thought that these were the only deposit options available through the entire casino, but later found out that the casino’s main PC website also allows Direct Cash and Quick Cash as deposit options.
As an American punter, I am happy to know that MasterCard is accepted as a form of payment at Drake Casino, but there is a catch: you can only use your MasterCard after your initial deposit. This means that you will need to use your American Express or Visa to deposit for the first time.
My Visa deposit of $100 was accepted immediately, and I found the process to be quite smooth.
Drake Casino’s Android site is powered in part by BetSoft Gaming, which brings the big highlights to the player. BetSoft’s great 3D slots such as Slotfather and After Night Falls give detailed backgrounds, neat animations, and fun interactive bonus rounds.
The slot selection is limited to just a handful of games, and while I would like to see more titles here, the 3D slots are fantastic and are almost an exact replica of what you see on the PC version of the casino. One has to remember that very few US casinos are mobile friendly and those that are offer even less games than Drake currently has available.
Table games are another great highlight at Drake Casino. The games play wonderfully on my Android, and the touch screen interface worked very well for me on the Butterfly’s large screen. Both standard and high roller tables are available, and the Blackjack and Roulette games really stood out to me as being a lot of fun.
The better of those two titles though is definitely the blackjack. I think that it is honestly the best Android mobile blackjack game that I have ever played. I never had a misbet, and the smoothness and action delivered by Drake in this game is second to none. Seeing as how blackjack is my favorite casino game, I will definitely be coming back here to play more of this mobile version.
Desktop users have tons more options and can choose from Drake’s full suite of more than 300 different table games and slots. However, as I’m more of a mobile man, that’s my main focus for this review.
After a few days I decided that it was time to pull out my money and try my luck at another casino. I ended up initiating a withdrawal request through my phone, selecting a Bank Wire to get my money.
Other withdrawal options available at Drake Casino include: Check, Quick Cash, and Direct Cash.
While Drake Casino allows you to put through a great deal of the casino experience on your Android, some things still need to be done on a PC. This was the case with my identity documents, which are required to allow the withdrawal process to be approved. I ended up logging on to my computer to get this done, but this is the only portion of my experience that did not take place on my phone.
One thing I was not a fan of in the withdrawal process was the high fees associated with each option. My Bank Wire cost me $60, while checks and the other options have $50 fees. This is a steep amount to process a payment to a player, and I think that Drake Casino can do a better job here.
With that being said, I ended up being very pleased with the service that Drake Casino provided me. I ended up being able to use my Android to call the casino to inquire about my payout status. The staff was very helpful and worked hard to get me an update. While the live chat function is only available on PC, and while I would like to see this option on my phone, I understand it not being available.
My Bank Wire arrived in four days, which is pretty good speed for an Internet casino. I can say that while the fees are high, I am happy with the speed in which I got my money.
Drake Casino is a fantastic Android compatible casino that offers great 3D slots, fun table games, and great service. With that being said, I would like to see lower banking fees and a few more options being made available, but there’s no doubt this is one of the best mobile casinos open to American players.
