5Dimes Review

In a world where many US friendly sportsbooks are maligned as not providing great service, 5Dimes has been named as one of the most reliable sports betting sites on the internet. Across many platforms, 5Dimes is hailed as offering the best lines and an awesome player rewards program, which is something that a lot of other US friendly books just cannot match. But how does 5Dimes stack up when it comes to the site’s mobile offering? Is it up to par with industry leaders such as BetOnline and Bovada, or does it fall back to stragglers such as JustBet and BetGuardian? Those questions are among the many we will be addressing in this review, during which time we will look at 5Dimes’ mobile software, the bets offered, and the platform’s banking and customer service.

With that being said, let’s delve in and find out just how good (or bad) 5Dimes mobile is.

5Dimes Mobile Software

Headquartered in Costa Rica and in business since 1999, 5Dimes has a long reputation of hosting a very simple desktop site. While other betting operators are using flashy colors and Flash, 5Dimes has kept an almost minimalistic approach with its site for the last 14 years. Thus, it should be no surprise that this has carried over to the firm’s mobile site.

While we weren’t shocked to see the simple white approach, we were horrified to see that the mobile site was not tailored to either our Android smartphone or tablet. This is simply not acceptable, and led to us having extreme difficulty selecting various bets. Mis-bets are a real possibility with this non-touch friendly layout, and we have to plead that you use extreme caution if you are going to bet with 5Dimes on your mobile device.

While the design may be awful, we will credit 5Dimes with offering the exact same betting styles on its mobile site as its PC site. Everything from Straight Bets, to Parlays, to Prop Bets is present here, and that is something that a lot of other Latin America based books cannot match.

One disappointing aspect of the betting options is the lack of live betting options. While we have seen this at other US friendly sites, we won’t kill 5Dimes over the lack of this feature. The horrible mobile layout is a tough pill to swallow, though.

Depositing and Customer Service

As a well established name in the sportsbetting world, 5Dimes has built a reputation for its exceptional banking and customer service. Because it is US friendly, you may not see all of the options that punters in the EU enjoy, but the options available are more than sufficient for putting in and pulling out money.

Deposit options include credit cards and Bitcoin, both of which are quickly registered and placed into your account.

Withdrawals are processed quickly, using Person to Person Transfers, Check, and Bitcoin. As is usually the case with a long established book, there is little delay in actually processing payments. We found a check to be processed within 24 hours, with delivery time reaching 8 days. This really isn’t bad for a US friendly establishment, which has to deal with several banking restrictions in getting money out to the players.

Customer service is another great aspect of this industry veteran. This is due to helpful and friendly representatives that put the punter first, and are willing to do whatever they reasonably can. We agree with this assessment made by other review sites, and can honestly say that 5Dimes may have some of the best customer service we have experienced at a betting site.

We rang up an instant messaging session to speak about a bonus, and were met with a rep who offered us an even better bonus opportunity. This is a great touch that didn’t need to be extended, but the better terms would keep us betting there (if not on our mobile phones).

5Dimes is a great betting firm that caters to the American sports bettor. We love the desktop site, service, and banking system, but absolutely abhor the mobile site. We recommend this site if you will NOT be using your Android device, but cannot stress that this is an awful mobile experience.

The bottom line? Bet here on your desktop, but not on your mobile phone.
